The new Lakewood Shopping Center store HESS, which stands for Home Essentials Simply Stated, is celebrating its opening today at 2013 Abrams—the former Bebe Grande spot—with muffins and mimosas until they run out. The store will be open seven days a week 10 a.m.—6 p.m. and by appointment.

In addition to its front entrance, the home decor store opens into Talulah Belle, which owner and neighborhood resident Elizabeth Mast also runs. (“Hess” is Mast’s husband’s middle name—not a coincidence.)

HESS sells home accessories like rugs, custom furniture, coffee-table books and lamps. Its Design Source Center, which we mentioned earlier this week, has a team ready to offer tips on staging your on-the-market house, decorating your new home or rearranging what you have. Prices range from $100-$500.

“I wanted to have a new, fresh concept that could meet everyone’s needs,” Mast says. “We’re trying to make it hip and cool and comfortable, and something everyone can afford.”

Mast expects to hold a gallery showing focused on local artists within the next month.
