Remember the old CopperTank Brewing Company in Deep Ellum at 2600 Main at Good Latimer? The location failed as a microbrewery, although the big tank was a novelty at the time, and now Pegasus News and the DMN are reporting that developer Craig Spivey plans to open a 10-lane bowling alley, bar, restaurant and live music. Deep Ellum Bowl sounds like it could be a hopping place, although 10 lanes isn’t exactly a massive alley. Spivey told Pegasus he’s modeling the place after Brooklyn Bowl, which I’ve never visited but from the appearance of its website looks to be a club first and an alley second. But a bowling alley with live music and a restaurant, assuming it serves more than re-heated frozen pizza and hot dogs, would be a novelty in Dallas worth checking out. Look for the place to open this summer, according to the website.
