If you want to pick up some great restaurant discounts and help a neighborhood homeowners association fund its patrol program, read on.
The Vickery Place Neighborhood Association is selling books featuring 15 deals from neighborhood restaurants. The book costs $12, and the money raised by the assocation will help fund the neighborhood’s expanded police patrol. The fund-raising goal is $5,000, according to organizer and neighborhood resident Kathy Harris.
Among the restaurants participating: Dickey’s, Fish City Grill, Cafe San Miguel, Fireside Pies, Victor Tangoes, Cuba Libre Cafe, Capitol Pub, Vickery Park Neighborhood Bar, Greenville Bar & Grill, Hurricane Grill, Stan’s Blue Note, and Sushi Axiom. Most of the restaurants are along Henderson or Greenville. Coupons in the book are valid through December 30.

The book was designed by Rob Curran and was inspired, Harris says, by a similar Taste of White Rock coupon book put together by Mel Cyrak and benefiting White Rock Lake and the Peninsula Neighborhood Association.
