Plan for a little extra traffic on Abrams Road if you’re coming to Lakewood for lunch this week or next. The City of Dallas is installing new water and sewer lines beneath Abrams between Richmond and Lakewood avenues. Going north on Abrams, the left turn lane at Richmond is closed, and the center lane is expected to be closed from Richmond to Lakewood for at least a week and a half, said Jerry Moyers, the project’s pipeline inspector.
The entire project, which calls for replacing old water and sewer lines in the streets surrounding Abrams in that area, is expected to be complete this winter. The crews can work only between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., so hopefully it won’t add too much slow-down to rush hour.
