I didn’t find out until the story was well underway, that the two featured Dallas Fire-Rescue paramedics Kent Mandernach and Kelly Kovar, were working overtime in the Lake Highlands area when they saved the life of young Nicholas Calabro. They normally work out of Station 17 right here in the Lakewood neighborhood. If you see these guys around, give them a pat on the back.
