A new Bible study for women is taking place in our neighborhood, and they meet at a wine bar.
Dr. Jackie Roese, a former pastor at Irving Bible Church and the current president of The Marcella Project, is hosting the study at Times Ten Cellars.
“I think Jesus would be here,” Roese says of her venue choice.
It’s not the first neighborhood Bible study in a bar. Faith on Tap started out meeting at the previous incarnation of 1st and 10, and The Table Church has a pub ministry that has discussed the theology of Willie Nelson at Bryan Street Tavern.
Roese’s new women’s study began last week and is held 6:45-8:15 p.m. Monday nights through March 4. The cost is $30 for the entire series. Wine, soda and cheese boards are available for purchase.
