On Thursday, June 25, the restaurant with the goal to “inspire good food choices” is slated to welcome East Dallasites to its 60th location at 3921 Gaston Ave., according to Luna Grill’s website. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and the first 60 customers in line will get a free bowl.

Luna Grill has been around since 2004 when the first location opened in San Diego. The fast-casual chain currently has eight locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, including one in Lake Highlands on Walnut Hill Lane.

“While raising our two daughters, my wife Maria and I often questioned why it was so hard to find wholesome, everyday meals that we actually felt good about feeding them,” wrote Sean Pourteymour, Luna Grill’s co-founder and executive chairperson, on the restaurant’s website. “That question became our mission. We dreamed of a place where families could enjoy food that was nutritious and flavorful, approachable and convenient.”
