Dallas Costume Shoppe is a pillar, supporting Deep Ellum for over 40 years and the Dallas theater community for nearly 100. When owner Michael Robinson sold the iconic building earlier this year, we thought that pillar might be crumbling down, but it’s only moving.
By the end of September, Robinson will have moved the countless costumes, fabric and props from their home at the edge of Main Street, to a new location at 2404 Arbuckle Ct. It’s located just above Preston Hollow, north of 635. The new location will include more working space for designing clothes, as well as a smaller workshop for designers to rent out for projects. There’s no official opening date set for the new spot, but Robinson says it will be open in time for Halloween season.
