The 5k Cancer Awareness Walk and Community Safety Fair will be taking place Saturday, Sept. 14 at the University Crossing Trail.

The event is a collaboration between the Dallas Police Department, Blue Goes Pink and Cancer on Lock Down (C.O.L.D). This will be the second annual walk for police officers and first responders affected by or living with cancer.

Online registration is available through Eventbrite. In-person registration will be from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and the opening ceremony will be from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The event will begin in Mockingbird Station and continue through the University Crossing Trail, from Glencoe Park and then over the Mockingbird Pedestrian bridge.

There is no cost to participate.
