The Department of Sanitation Services brush and bulky items collection returns to its regular schedule today.

If you are in an area that follows a second Monday week collection schedule, you can begin setting out brush and bulky items today, Aug. 8. Set outs must be completed by Sunday, Aug.11. Collection will begin on Monday, Aug.12 and will continue through Friday, Aug. 16.

Set outs that do not comply with the Department’s requirements will be subject to citations and collection fees.

What qualifies as bulky?

  • Furniture
  • Appliances
  • Mattresses
  • Small household items

What qualifies as brush?

  • Tree limbs and shrubbery (individual pieces not exceeding 8 inches in diameter or 10 feet in length)
  • Yard trimmings (bagged organic yard waste such as leaves, grass and twigs)
