The popular Vickery Place Wine Walk marks its seventh year this Saturday starting at 7 p.m., as attendees stroll the blocks, stopping in beautiful backyards and front porches along the way. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Vickery Place Neighborhood Association and a fun way to meet other locals. Tickets are $60 and available here.

Homicide isn’t typically hilarious, but this dark comedy has entertained audiences for 76 years. Watch the wacky antics of Mortimer Brewster and his bloodthirsty aunts in “Arsenic and Old Lace,” opening Friday at Pocket Sandwich Theater, 5400 E. Mockingbird Lane. In case you’re not familiar with this increasingly popular concept, the mile-long fun run involves jogging through plumes of colorful powder. Wear white to look like tie-dye at the finish line. The nonprofit rescue Dallas DogRRR will unveil their annual “Hunks and Hounds” fundraising calendar at LG Taps, 3619 Greenville, on Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The “hunks” will be on hand along with homeless pets who are looking for families. The dog rescue Cody’s Friends will bring its rescue bus to Stapp Realtor, 3404 Greenville, for an adoption event on Saturday from noon-4 p.m. (see the details here]. Mockingbird, where DFW FurGotten Friends will have their own bus filled with fuzzy friends looking for homes from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. (get the details here].

Celebrity chef John Tesar continues his Sunday Cinema Series with the 2010 foodie film “The Trip” this week at 8 p.m. Held at his restaurant Knife, the night includes dishes specially paired with the film along with a drink. Tickets are $35, with $10 of every one sold donated back to the Dallas Film Society.
