The Lakewood Heights Neighborhood Association is hosting a pool party at the Tietze Swimming Pool this this Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. This free-for-all, family event will include food, drinks and music.

August marks the return of the annual DFW Restaurant Week, a wine and food event that highlights over 100 restaurants in the DFW metroplex. This event began Aug. 7 and will continue until Aug. 26. At select locations, you can purchase a meal at a fixed prize and part of what you spend will be donated to local charities in Dallas and Fort Worth.

The Bath House Cultural Center premiers “Women Playing Hamlet”, a play about a woman who gets cast as Hamlet in a New York production,, and wants to figure out how “to be or not to be”. The play features an all-female cast in multiple roles. The show will run every Thursday to Saturday from Aug. 10-26. Tickets range from $15-$25.

Beats and Eats returns this Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Granada Theatre. Come treat your mouth with food prepared by Chef Oliver Sitrin from the Blind Butcher, and treat your ears with live music from Tomar and the FCs, a soul band from Austin.

Camp Death Productions starts their ongoing series, “A Bit of Late Night Reading,” at the Pocket Sandwich Theater this Friday at 11:15 p.m. The first show of the series is “Cheddar Heads” by local playwright Steven Young. Tickets are $5.

Come to the Pocket Sandwich Theatre this Saturday morning for some “Family Friendly Funny” with the Alternative Comedy Theatre. The show begins at 11;30 a.m. and is appropriate for all ages. Light food and mimosas will be available beginning at 10:45 a.m. Tickets are $7-$12.

Pet Supplies Plus hosts DFW Furgotten Friends Adoptions on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come on down if you are looking to expand your family or just to share some love and meet some pups.

Dallas DogRRR (Rescue.Rehab.Reform) will be at Hollywood Feed, 2031 Abrams Rd, this Saturday from 11am to 2pm. You can how support for this organization through donations and adoptions.

For all you Pokémon GO enthusiasts, Pokémon GO City Tours is throwing a party on a bus to raid and catch Pokemon on both Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
