Dallas ISD students may return to campus beginning Oct. 5, but at Lakewood Elementary, there’s not enough space for everyone who wants to go back to the classroom.
Principal Brittany Thompson announced survey results showing that 82% of families, which represents 801 students, want to return to in-person learning.
Since the district only allows schools to operate at 60% capacity, Lakewood is forced to create a hybrid plan, she says.
Thompson asked parents to fill out a new questionnaire to help find a workable plan for alternating in-person instruction.
