It’s Halloween weekend and the whole neighborhood has taken note. Here are a few ways to make the most out of this festive weekend.

Want a safe and family oriented Halloween? Then throw on your best costume and head over to the Skillman Church of Christ for the annual Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat. During the event, youngsters can enjoy holiday activities while trick-or-treating from the trunks of churchgoers’ cars. There will be plenty of games, candy, and prizes for the kids as well as a free dinner. The event is this Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. See the hilarious promotional video below:

Every night this weekend from 6 to 9 p.m, the Dallas Arboretum is hosting a trick or treating in the Children’s Garden.  Throw on your best costume and come join for a light guided tour of the garden as wells as some sweets. Tickets are $10 and available here, just pick your date. It’s all part of the Autumn at the Arboretum, which celebrates the season with an impressive display of pumpkins and a slew of holiday events. 

On Sunday from noon-7 p.m., find your perfect holiday gourd at the Pumpkin Patch at the corner of Garrett and Ross, in the Swiss Avenue Historic District. Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes will be available for sale.

This Saturday, from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. make your way down to Lower Greenville for some Halloween fun. The event starts at Greenville Avenue Pizza Company but also includes Blind Butcher, Bullzerk, Company Cafe, Motor Sisters Ice Cream, Plum Yoga, The Libertine, which will all be offering candy for young trick-or-treaters. GAP Co pizza will also be offering it’s indulgent candy-topped pizza. Get all the details here.

Love live music? This Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Urbano Cafe will host an afternoon full of good music and food. The music will be from local bands like Squarewheel, CLIFFFS, and Plandroid. The business, working with Good Records and the Texas Ale Project, is hosting these “Concerts in the Garden” series to provide a gather space for neighbors and musicians. Get your tickets here.

This Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., nibble on the popular local treats at a pop-up bake sale produced by Chefs Lily Hanson and Skye McDaniel. They will be selling homemade goodies at The Stock Exchange, Neighborhood Pantry, 5808 Junius St.
