This gloomy weather might have you needing some color in your life.

If so, the Arboretum has the perfect event for you. Stop by this weekend for Artscape, where you’ll find about 85 juried fine art and craft artists displaying their pieces.

The artists from around the country are filling the Jonsson Color Garden, showing and selling paintings, sculpture, hats, jewelry, photography, woodwork and more.

Plus, local restaurants and vendors including Empanada Cookhouse, Fletcher’s Corny Dogs, Frios Pops, Torchy’s Tacos and Ziziki’s will be there with food and drinks for sale, and free beer, wine and cider samples will be available in front of the DeGolyer House.

As a bonus, visitors will get to preview the ZimScuplt Marketplace, where sculpture and handmade items from more than 200 Zimbabwean artists will be for sale. The ZimSculpt stone sculpture exhibit opens May 1.

Artscape will also have face painting and a petting zoo to entertain the kids. That runs 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

And backgrounding it all is live music.

Learn more about Artscape and see a list of the artists attending here. Artscape will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. April 24-25 at the Arboretum. If you have a membership, the event is free to attend. Otherwise, it’s garden admission.

The Dallas Arboretum is located at 8525 Garland Road.
