Lucky’s Hot Chicken is opening its doors to customers ready to the feel burn of its fiery Nashville-style fried chicken.

The restaurant opened at 11 a.m. Monday at 4505 Gaston Ave. in the former Brinks Coffee Shop & Restaurant. Norman Brinker and his wife opened the eatery inside a 5,000-square-foot futurist building in 1964.

But when Hunter Pond, who also owns Hudson House, and Kyle Brooks of Vandelay Hospitality purchased the property, it had been vacant since 2014.

Lucky’s was set to debut in early 2020, but the opening was delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Customers can dine in, order pickup or have food delivered via Uber Eats until 11 p.m.

Lucky’s Hot Chicken is partnering with Nashville transplant and chef Josh Bonee to serve tenders, wings, breasts and thighs with five levels of spice. Sides include mac ‘n cheese, coleslaw and baked beans. Cool your flaming-hot mouth with soft-serve ice cream.
