The owners of Whiskey Cake and Velvet Taco plan to open a new restaurant in the little blue Swiss chalet that was once home to Melios Bros Char Bar on Lower Greenville, the Dallas Morning News reported.

The unnamed eatery will be a fast-casual restaurant at 2026 Greenville Ave. It could possibly debut in late summer 2020, said Jack Gibbons, president of Front Burner Restaurants, which operates Velvet Taco.

Escape Hatch Dallas reported in November that the eatery is expected to be a sliders place called Son of a Butcher.

The interior of the building will be gutted, but the unique exterior, including its three peaks, will be preserved, Gibbons told the Morning News.

The previous restaurant, Char Bar, opened in 1973 before Greenville Avenue became a foodie destination. Customers loved the eatery for its affordable breakfasts and burgers in the quaint and charming house.

It closed in September after nearly 50 years in business.
