2020 was another eventful year in East Dallas — and not just because of the coronavirus.

It wasn’t a particularly rosy year for the neighborhood. The coronavirus caused more than 1,500 deaths in Dallas County, as well as widespread unemployment, food insecurity and anxiety. Some local eateries couldn’t weather the coronavirus lockdown, and we had to say goodbye to the The LOT and Highland Park Cafeteria.

But 2020 wasn’t all bad. Social media kept us entertained as we followed our favorite local celebs like Erykah Badu and Colleen Coyle. Plus, new restaurants like Miracle and XOXO Dining Room gave us something to look forward to and a boost of good news.
