Good news for the White Rock Lake community, bad news for silt.
The Dallas City Council approved the White Rock Lake dredging feasibility study in a meeting Wednesday.
The proposal pulled $99,300 from the White Rock Lake Beautification Fund, which is funded “by lease revenues from White Rock Lake Boat House and Filter Building,” reported D Magazine.
More than $176,000 in FEMA grant money will also go toward “Spillway Capacity Analysis, Breach Analysis and Potential Failure Mode Analysis for White Rock Dam,” according to the meeting’s agenda.
