What to do with the storm debris in your yard

If you’ve got large limbs on your curb, don’t worry if it’s not your week for bulky brush pickup. The City of Dallas Code Compliance Department is suspending ticketing for brush violations because of extensive storm debris.

But don’t go setting out old couches and other furniture. The exception is for storm debris only.

In July, bulk and brush trash will be limited to the collection of storm debris. Regular bulk trash will resume Aug. 1, District 9 City Councilman Mark Clayton said in a Facebook post

Neighbors can also haul debris themselves to transfer stations during designated days, Clayton said. Or for a more fun option, e-mail info@dallaszoo.com to let the zoo know you’ve got some trees limbs that would make a tasty treat for its elephants.
