UPDATE: Authorities keep searching, but there’s still no sign of the missing Grand Prairie couple at White Rock Lake

Grand Prairie authorities continued scouring White Rock Lake on Saturday in hopes of finding Weltzin Garcia Mireles and her boyfriend Alfonso Roderick Hernandez.

Mireles was reported missing Tuesday after police filed a domestic assault warrant against 28-year-old Hernandez, according to the Dallas Morning News. He reportedly assaulted Mireles in January.

Mireles’ cellphone was traced to the White Rock Lake area, where police found Hernandez’s empty car.

The search by boat, foot and horseback continued throughout the weekend, NBC Channel 5 reported. But police found no sign of the missing couple, who have two children together.

“The facts don’t add up. Finding the car out here abandoned, it just doesn’t add up, so that’s why we’re putting a lot of resources into this,” Grand Prairie police spokesman Mark Beseda told the news outlet.
