Let’s make it official: new signs for Mockingbird Elementary

After months of meetings, discussions and a bit of controversy, Stonewall Jackson Elementary has begun the physical transformation into Mockingbird Elementary.

New signs went up for the marquee and on the building this week, complete with the new blue logo that includes the star mascot, a mockingbird and the sign for “I love you,” as it will remain a regional school for the deaf here in North Texas.

The new name will go into effect on July 1.

Just down Matilda, Lee Elementary still has its old sign, but it should soon read Geneva Heights.
