What’s that very bright spot at Garland and Peavy?

You can’t miss On Time Experts at Garland and Peavy.

The intersection at Garland and Peavy is known for being one of the hippest corners in East Dallas. With 20 Feet, the Goodfriend empire and Cultivar, this intersection is the mecca of bearded foodies in East Dallas.

When an old gas station closed and the rent sign went up, neighbors wondered what trendy place would join the fray. Avocado toast? Independent film? Kombucha?

Finally, the question has been answered. With a bold orange coat of paint that can’t be missed by the speedy cars of Garland, the trendy location will be On Time Experts, an air-conditioning, heating and plumbing company. Some neighbors were hoping for more.

“How disappointing,” reader Judy Enis O’Loughlin said of the tenant. “The color is pretty terrible, but I might like it better if it were a better tenant like a Mexican restaurant.”

I am excited that OnTime Experts is moving to the spot on Garland and Peavy. For years, that corner business and it’s clientele were questionable, to say the least. The building could have been vacant for a long time and continued to be a problem. Instead, a reputable business that we all use from time to time, paints the building, cleans up the lot and moves in. I really can’t understand why people are upset. The building has limited parking and space, so the chances of it becoming the East Dallas branch of Javier’s was limited.

The naysayers will change their mind when their AC breaks down in the summer. Ha!

Welcome to the neighborhood and nothing but the best of luck to On Time Experts! I really don’t understand why anyone would post negative comments about them or any other company investing in the Garland Road corridor. We should all put bitterness behind us and embrace new businesses such as this moving into our neighborhood.

I wish them the best, I just wish they would have painted it a different color. It is such an eyesore. Very happy though that it is not another tire shop or crappy convenience store.

Another Mexican restaurant is exactly what we all need.

I wish On Time Experts the most remarkable success. So much so that they have to move to a larger facility.
