After more than 20 years, the creator of Child perfume has sold the business.
Casa Linda resident Susan Owens told the Advocate in an email that she sold the company to California-based Beautyhabit noting she was “ready to stop.” She added she plans to move in order to be closer to family.
According to Owens, she has exchanged high volumes of Child perfume with Beautyhabit, an online luxury beauty store, for more than 16 years. Owens’ assistant will continue working under the new ownership with handcrafting methods taught to Beautyhabit co-owners and sisters Paula Weiser-Vasquez and Teresa Mitchell.
“I am so blessed to have Paula carry on the Child legacy and keep Child just as it is,” Owens writes.
Child perfume has become a celebrity favorite, with stars like Madonna and Jennifer Anniston buying from the East Dallas product line. Owens made the perfume herself and told the Advocate in a previous interview she picked that name because “Who’s going to forget that? And fragrances always take you back.”
