Just last week, we shared a historic photo of the days when fanciful mansions lined Ross Avenue at the turn of the 20th century. Tomorrow, April 28, from 5-7 p.m. the Dallas Woman’s Forum is hosting a fundraiser to support one such stately neighborhood home, the Alexander Mansion.

Home to the forum’s headquarter, the grand old Ross Avenue house is wrought with leaks that threaten its longterm survival. “Raising the Roof with Rose-Mary Rumbley” aims to raise $200,000 for needed improvements at the property.

During the event, attendees will hear about neighborhood history from longtime professor and performer Dr. Rose-Mary Rumbley while also enjoying a silent auction, tastes from Two Sisters Catering and a chance to tour the elegant mansion.

Tickets are $45 and available here.
