Vivien Behrens, who lives in Casa Linda and attends Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, won Best of Show in DART’s annual city-wide student art contest.

She won a cash prize of $1,000 and her art will be displayed on a DART bus throughout the summer. See a close-up of her artwork and the other first-prize winners here, or head over to the Dallas Museum of Art where the artwork will be displayed until April 22.

A total of 951 entries from kindergarten through 12th grade participated in this year’s contest, according to the DART website.

“Needless to say, we’re very proud of her,” says her dad Thad Behrens.
