Fingers crossed: Bridge to connect The Lot to Santa Fe Trail

The LotFor those who are curious about a walkway connecting The Lot, the new causal dining restaurant going in where the old Backyard Beach Bar used to be, to the Santa Fe Trail behind it, I’ve got good news. Managing partner John McBride says they are working with the parks department and Dart to get approval to build a bridge that ties directly into the Santa Fe Trail.

“We want it. We definitely want it,” he says. “We think it would be a heck of an asset for the restaurant and a heck of an asset for the trail. It’s just a matter of working with the proper officials to get it done.”

The Lot, a neighborhood-minded, family friendly restaurant with a “kidscape” and activity center for adults, is set to open for dinner on Feb. 25.

  • Yes that’s what I’d use. Thanks.

  • Actually, there is a nice connection already for the businesses on that side of Grand. Exit the trail at Corona St, turn right on La Vista, then left on Tucker St. All residential streets.

  • We could definitely use a good exit point there to commercial spaces near by. Cane Rosso’s new location would probably use the same exit from Santa Fe. Please get this done!
