Mi Cocina to open patio for Lakewoodstock

Get a sneak peek of Mi Cocina Lakewood Sunday during Lakewoodstock. The restaurant will open its renovated patio, offering margaritas, Mambo Taxis ($6) and beer ($5) from noon-8 p.m.

Mi Cocina also will have a tent at the festival, offering nachos, tacos, queso, salsa and chips. The new Mi Cocina is expected to open in July.

  • Wilson, I had to reread your comment three times because I kept reading it as “sexiest,” and was horribly confused.

I’ve eaten at the LH Mi Cocina a number of times, and haven’t experienced it as sexist. Or perhaps I just haven’t paid attention because they’re so nice to my 2-year-old daughter and her friends —who are messy and high maintenance — even on busy Friday nights.

     Or Matt’s.   😉

I’ve experienced that treatment as well at the HPV and Preston Forest locations. Possibly endemic, definitely off-putting and frustrating. For service, I prefer Javier’s.

  • Wilson!

Will they have sexist waiters in Lakewood, too?  We stopped going to the one in LH after several visits when the waiters would consistently NOT address any of the adult females in our party.

That patio was miserably hot Sunday at Lakewoodstock, completely open to the sun. Please tell me there will be some sort of shade structure.
Perhaps Mcrowd could earmark those $5 beers and $14 Mambo Taxis for umbrellas or pergolas.

I’m with Mike D all the way. Welcome, Mi Cocina. Glad to see my neighborhood getting an improvement. And I hope the move down the street gives Matt’s a chance to retool and get their groove back – I want to see them succeed, too.

  •  Not sure on the sizes of the Mambo Taxis, but they usually run $10, so it’s a $4 discount.

So glad to see the addition of Mi Cocina!  I really wanted to enjoy Matt’s but after so many years of disappointment I’m looking forward to MiCo’s!

Wow $5 beers….thanks.  Looks like Mi Cocina is doing like they always do – ripping people off.  This is a great addition to Lakewood.
