Motorcycle hits fire truck at Skillman Street and La Vista Drive
The Dallas Morning News reported that the motorcycle driver was traveling south on Skillman in the Lakewood Heights area before running into Dallas Fire-Rescue Engine 17, which was turning left on La Vista and responding to a call with its lights and sirens turned on. Police responded around 8:35 p.m. Oct. 26. The unnamed motorcyclist died at a hospital.
Stabbing in the 2900 block of Canton Street
DPD Beat reported that officials were called to assist another officer around 1:40 p.m. on Oct. 26 and found that “an unknown victim was stabbed by a suspect after a disturbance related to a crash near South Malcolm X Boulevard and Canton Street” in Deep Ellum. The unnamed victim died at a hospital, and police arrested someone at the scene but then released them.
