In the past week, at least one robbery and two armed robberies occurred near Lower Greenville Avenue.

On the June 23, a female robbed the Walgreens on Mockingbird Lane near Greenville Avenue at gunpoint. On June 25, four males robbed two people on the 5800 block of Prospect Avenue by pushing them down. And on June 26, two males robbed three victims in the 5600 block of Bell Avenue while one of the suspects displayed a handgun.

In light of the crimes, Darren Dattalo of the Lower Greenville Neighborhood Association Crime Watch offers a few suggestions to help neighbors stay safe.

Since many of us walk to our favorite destinations on the strip, please make sure that you remain aware of your surroundings at all times, especially after dark,” Dattalo says.

“Note that both of these incidents that occurred in the neighborhood involved people who were not alone. If you’re coming home late, try calling an Uber. And definitely don’t walk alone late at night.”
