The officers of the Dallas Police Northeast Division, which oversees our neighborhood, are raising money for one of their own this Friday. Officer Scott Jenkins suffered a heart attack, and funds raised will benefit his recovery. During the event, you can grab a meal with the officers of chicken, hamburgers, sausage links, beans and potato salad for a $10 donation. The event takes place from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the station, 9915 E. Northwest Highway.

Excellence ER Lakewood, 1926 Skillman, hosts “Walk Your Dog Day” on Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon, a mile-long walk that ends with a party with snacks and prizes. The event benefits Making Assistance Dogs Easy (MADE), a Texas-based nonprofit dedicating to helping veterans with PTSD obtain the comfort and care of a service dog. The Oscar excitement hits Haymaker at 1520 Greenville this Sunday from 5-11 p.m. The restaurant is throwing its own watch party complete with a red carpet, prizes for best dressed and trivia and contests all night. The comedic “Funny Money” by Ray Cooney opens at Pocket Sandwich Theater this weekend, running Feb. 24-March 25 at various times. The story follows a humdrum accountant who finds a briefcase full of money and takes off to Spain to start life anew. But then the police show up.
