On Friday, May 31, 2024, at about 2:35 p.m. Dallas Police responded to a multi-vehicle crash in the area of North Buckner Boulevard and Chenault Street.
The preliminary investigation determined a driver eastbound on Chenault Street attempted to turn north onto N. Buckner Blvd., when a truck towing a vehicle going south on Buckner failed to yield to the turning vehicle and hit the driver’s side of the car. After the initial crash, the involved car then hit another vehicle, according to officers.
Dallas Fire Rescue responded and the driver of the car in the initial crash died at the scene, a passenger was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, police said.
The 36-year-old driver, Jonathan Davis, was treated at the scene. Davis was arrested for an outstanding warrant. No charges have been filed in the crash investigation.
No other injuries were reported.
