Masquerade ball Saturday to benefit neighbor Karen Blessen’s ’29 Pieces’

“Who Are You?”, a masquerade ball at Life in Deep Ellum Saturday, Jan. 29, will help Pulitzer Prize winning graphic designer and artist Karen Blessen put on a new exhibit, “29 Pieces”.

The event features music from Ishi, the Gritz (Erykah Badu’s backing band), Hello Lover, Able Youth and DJ B3. Tickets are $25.

“29 Pieces” is a sculpture project. Read more about the planned exhibit, which aims to “raise awareness of the timeless relevance and artistry of the inspired messages left to us by mystics from many traditions and cultures”.

Blessen also founded a peace-promoting charity, Today Marks the Begining. And she has designed a few Advocate covers.
