Bryan Adams Principal Ryan Bott would like to extend an invitation to our amazing BA feeder pattern to take part in the 64th Homecoming/ BA Spirit Parade Oct. 23 at 9:30 a.m. Because we were unable to celebrate last year, we would love to make this a HUGE event!
We need as many organizations as possible from all of the BA feeder pattern family to join us on the 23rd to represent and show their Cougar Pride. Use the Google form to register your group, team or organization to be part of the Homecoming Parade.
All BA organizations, clubs and teams are expected to be represented in the parade. Please make sure you take time to fill out the form so organizers can plan accordingly. The last day to fill out the form is Oct. 15. This is going to be a great way to spread the word about the great things going on at BA and in our feeder pattern. To register, go to: http://tiny.cc/21baparade.
From College Sweethearts to Recognized Teachers
Before they became two of the top educators in Dallas ISD, Elisa and Peter Morrissey were college sweethearts at Texas State University. The Morrisseys are possibly the first Dallas ISD married couple where each spouse has been named a top educator in the district: Elisa was the 2018 Dallas ISD Teacher of the Year, and Peter was a finalist for Teacher of the Year in 2021, both at District 3’s Alex Sanger Preparatory School.
“Working with students and serving in education is something we are both passionate about,” says Elisa, now an assistant principal at George W. Truett Elementary, also in District 3. Read their story on The Hub.
As the District celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with programs and activities centered around the empowerment, remembrance, and appreciation of our students’ cultural heritage, District 3 schools have been all-in. At Victor H. Hexter Elementary, students posted projects in the school hallways celebrating the various countries and cultures that are part of the Hispanic diaspora. Their beautiful displays featured colorful facts about the flags, people, location, music, dances, foods, traditions and dress of diverse Hispanic cultures.

The District is hosting free Covid-19 vaccination clinics at select campuses throughout the District. Staff and students 12 years of age or older can receive their first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Find the dates and location for the clinics at dallasisd.org/domain/28869. You have until Nov. 15 to submit proof of being fully vaccinated to get the District’s $500 incentive for staff and $50 for students.
