The Central Market in East Dallas is hosting two classes this month on etiquette for children and Jewish family meals.
In “52 Shabbats: Family Meals,” food writer and recipe developer Faith Kramer will learn about ingredients and flavors that have influenced Jewish cooking over the centuries.
Anyone 18 years and older, regardless of religious beliefs, can participate in the cooking class. Learn how to make dishes such as charred eggplant dip with roasted tomato and jalapeños served with challah; chicken kebabs with za’atar; rice pilaf with chopped tomato salad; and Turkish coconut pudding.
It’s scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m. June 16 at the Lovers Lane store. Tickets are available for $70. Register here.
Central Market is also hosting a class to teach kids ages 7-12 manners and etiquette.
Sarah Aynesworth has been teaching etiquette since 1996 and will help show children how to introduce themselves, engage in conversation, set the table, use proper utensils and eat properly. They’ll be served a three-course meal.
This class is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. June 17. Tickets cost $55. Register here.
