A friends group is readying Willis Winters Park for increased spring use with several improvement projects.
Volunteers with Friends of Willis Winters Park spent a Saturday morning spreading mulch in a new pollinator garden, completed in December. They also added labels to plants to educate visitors.
In addition to the pollinator garden, mulch was added to the playground and pavilion, which received a fresh coat of paint.
The work is part of ongoing improvements to the park. Last year, the group added lighting and new barbecue grills.
