Who says being vegan means not enjoying sweet treats?
Frankly Good, a Dallas cookie startup, sells vegan cookies at farmers’ markets, including Good Local Markets in East Dallas.
Ridout started the company in 2019 after switching to a plant-based diet. But Ridout didn’t lose his sweet tooth, so he and his mother turned the company into a business, according to CultureMap.
It started as a small business but is now full time, and he sells more than cookies. Other treats, such as cookie dough brittle and candied pecans, are on the menu, but the cookies are the hardest item to make. Ridout says it’s challenging to get a vegan cookie chewy on the inside and crunchy on the outside, but he has perfected it.
The treats are all baked in an East Dallas commercial kitchen and can be ordered through the website and shipped to your house, CultureMap reported.
In August, the six winning teams will go on to compete for $25,000.
