Just because we’re socially distanced, doesn’t mean we have to be distant. Join City Councilwoman Paula Blackmon on Thursday at noon for a free virtual town hall presented by Advocate Media.

Blackmon will talk with Sam Gillespie, the Advocate’s political and real estate editor, during the 30-minute live video event. She’ll also take questions from the audience. Among the topics to be discussed: coronavirus (of course), street racing, property tax increases, White Rock Lake, infrastructure and more.

Sign up for the free Paula Blackmon town hall here. Only a limited number of spaces are available. You’ll be emailed a link to the town hall after you’ve registered.

Also, former Dallas Observer columnist and Swiss Avenue resident Jim Schutze will join Advocate Media for a free virtual town hall May 28 at noon. Schutze recently retired from the Observer in a cost-cutting move, and he’ll talk with us about his career, his thoughts about the City of Dallas’ direction and bureaucracy, his favorite interviews over the years and his plans for the future.

Advocate town halls are presented as a free public service by Advocate Media. If you have ideas for people you would like to hear from at future Advocate town halls, please email us at rwamre@advocatemag.com.
