It’s the end of an era in Dallas radio. Mike Rhyner’s voice will no longer be a daily part of “The Hardline” on KTCK, the radio station where he’s been on the air for 26 years and is one of the founders of that radio station and its all-sports talk concept.

He made the announcement himself on social media, telling his followers before anyone else.

“It’s time for me to step away from The Ticket, and that’s what I’m going to do,” he said. “I love everything about the radio station … all those things we’ve done have been the most meaningful experience that I have ever had, and I will miss it terribly.”

Rhyner grew up in Oak Cliff and lived in the Casa Linda area for a time. In 1999, Rhyner took some time to talk to us about the show and life with his family in the neighborhood. Read the full interview here.
