Proceeds from “Watching” by Clara Johnson will benefit the families of fallen police officers.

A White Rock artist hopes to honor law enforcement by auctioning one of her paintings and donating the proceeds to an organization that supports the families of fallen officers.

Clara Johnson will donate 50 percent of the profit from the sale of “Watching” to the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation.

The 30- by 40-inch gallery wrap canvas, painted with latex paint, will be auctioned Saturday at the 27th annual White Rock Lake Artists’ Studio Tour.

“After hearing so many stories on the news about our fallen officers, I decided that it might be nice to use a portion of the proceeds from the sale of one of my paintings as a donation,” Johnson said. “The painting ‘Watching’ makes me think of the sacrifice these officers and their families have made.”

The silent auction will open at 10 a.m. Saturday and close at 5 p.m. Sunday.

A minimum bid of $300 is required for the $1,500 painting.
