If you want to dish on “Downton Abbey” and sip tea fit for the Crawley family, visit the Aldredge House on Sunday as it gives fans of the upcoming movie a chance to experience a tradition that has been part of the British aristocracy for centuries.
The elegant, three-course tea will be served using recipes from Highclere Castle, where the beloved TV series was filmed. Jann Patterson Mackey will begin the event with the presentation, “Entertaining Royalty at Highclere Castle,” which will include the famous people, aristocrats and members of the royal family who have visited the castle.
Guests are encouraged to dress for the occasion and wear their finest hats. A tour of the 102-year-old Aldredge House in the Swiss Avenue Historic District will take place at the conclusion of the tea.
When: 1:30 p.m. Sunday
Where: Aldredge House, 5500 Swiss Ave.
