Indulging in unhealthy dishes is a right of passage in the Dallas food scene, but savvy-salad restaurant Coolgreens plans to open an East Dallas location this November to make clean eating easier.
The Oklahoma City-based chain will open five stores in Dallas, including one at the Old Town Shopping Center. The first Texas location opened in Southlake earlier this year, and another will debut in Richardson this fall, the Dallas Observer reported.
“That area is one of the hearts of Dallas,” co-owner Leily Farzad told the Observer. “It’s the best location for us to reach as many people as possible. We want to help as many people incorporate healthy habits into their lifestyle as we can.”
Coolgreens will offer salads, sandwiches, wraps, bowls and flatbreads. The menu has something for everyone, such as the bacon blue flatbread, the sweet kale quinoa bowl or the pesto chicken sandwich with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and Italian dressing.
“Some places are strictly a specific genre of food, like salad and bowls,” co-owner Benny Farzad told the Observer. “This is a nice balance. You can have a different thing every day.”
Coolgreens is also environmentally conscious. Plasticware is not available in the restaurant, and carryout containers are biodegradable.
