Young violinists from Ignacio Zaragoza Elementary School will take the stage Aug. 15 alongside professional musicians.

The concert is organized by the Ubuntu Music Project, a Dallas nonprofit dedicated to changing the lives of East Dallas children through music and education. The group has been changing lives in Dallas for more than five years, serving more than 100 children.

The concert will celebrate the nonprofit’s partnership with One+One Dallas, a collaborative initiative that provides academic support for students at Dallas ISD schools. The program hopes to create more after-school music programs that have been proven to improve academic achievement, health, safety and social and emotional well-being, according to the website.

The event will take place at Sons of Hermann Hall. The concert is free, but donations are encouraged. For more information, click here.
