Authorities arrested a 22-year-old man Thursday in connection with the death of a transgender woman found earlier this month in White Rock Lake.

Police brought Ruben Alvarado to their headquarters, but he refused to answer questions, the Dallas Morning News reported.

He was charged with murder in the slaying of 26-year-old Arlington woman, Chynal Lindsey, and booked into the Dallas County jail on $500,000 bond.

When Lindsey’s body was pulled from the lake June 1, police said it exhibited signs of homicidal violence. She was discovered less than two weeks after 22-year-old Muhlaysia Booker was found fatally shot on a street in Far East Dallas.

Police arrested and charged Kendrell Lyles in Booker’s death. Prior to Alvarado’s arrest, Lyles was considered a person of interest in Lindsey’s slaying.
