Shake Shack on Greenville to open Monday

Crews have been working to transform a former Fuddruckers into a new Shake Shack at Old Town. The store opens Monday.

The Advocate’s Carol Toler told you a few months ago that Old Town Shopping Center at Greenville and Lovers had snagged a new Shake Shake to replace longtime burger staple Fuddruckers.

We’ve watched the progress as Fuddruckers’ former yellow metal roof was removed, and the space was being converted into a new burger palace.

Well, the DMN is reporting that Shake Shack will open its doors at 11 a.m. on Memorial Day, with the first 100 customers receiving a free dessert.

Shake Shack’s “free dessert” promotion doesn’t rival the year’s supply of chicken sandwiches the first-in-line winners receive when a new Chick-fil-A opens, but it will probably still draw a crowd on the Monday holiday.
