Police chase 3 East Dallas robbery suspects fleeing in U-Haul truck

Three people accused of robbing an East Dallas business were arrested after leading police on a chase in a U-Haul truck Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Officers responded at 4 a.m. to a business in the 4300 block of Ross Avenue. Employees told police three people entered the business and took an undisclosed amount of money and property before fleeing in a U-Haul.

About half an hour later, authorities recognized the vehicle and tried to conduct a traffic stop. A chase began in the 5100 block of Garland Road near White Rock Lake, NBC DFW reported.

Officers chased the U-Haul north to Peavy Road and then south to westbound Interstate 30. The chase ended when the driver exited on Dolphin Road and stopped near Julia Frazier Elementary on Spring Avenue, according to the station.

Police said four people abandoned the truck and fled on foot. Three of them were arrested.

An investigation is ongoing.
