Weltzin Garcia’s body found miles from White Rock Lake

Weltzin Mireles, 26, went missing Feb. 5.

Weltzin Garcia, the 26-year-old woman who went missing in February, was found in Mountain Creek Lake near her hometown of Grand Prairie, according to the Dallas Police Department.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Garcia after a kayaker found her body in the southwest Dallas lake on April 3. The cause of death has yet to be determined, police said.

Garcia and her boyfriend, Alfonso Hernandez, were reported missing Feb. 5. Police had filed a domestic assault warrant against Hernandez. After tracing the couples’ cellphones to White Rock Lake, Hernandez’s body was recovered from the water Feb. 18.

The couple has two children who are living with Garcia’s twin, Atziry Mireles.
