Security guard shot 3 times in Far East Dallas, police say

A security guard was shot three times during a confrontation Thursday night in Far East Dallas, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The guard was shot about 10 p.m. while securing an area in the 11700 block of Ferguson Road near Interstate 635, police said. He was taken to an area hospital, where he remained in serious condition, according to the Morning News.

The gunman, in his late teens or early 20s, fled west on Ferguson, authorities said. It is unclear whether he fled on foot or in a vehicle.
