Pickle lovers will relish the new East Dallas restaurant, Pickletopia, where patrons can purchase a plethora of briny foods.
For sale are 15 different items that local chef Lee Theilen is pickling in barrels around the store, the Dallas Morning News reports. Customers can buy purple onion slivers, mushrooms, turnips, crunchy jalapeño rounds, okra, bread-and-butter pickles and more.
Theilen, who began pickling as a hobby after his retirement, said he would like his products to follow seasonal veggies and support local farmers.
CultureMap previously reported that the eatery at 4812 Bryan Ave. would open in late summer, but the soft opening was delayed until December.
However, Theilen is planning a grand opening in January, where he will also unveil relishes, salsas and Thai chile hot sauce.
