Since you’ve reached your turkey and mashed potatoes quota, might as well start celebrating Christmas. It wouldn’t be the holidays in Dallas without the Trains at NorthPark. See the elaborate display featuring more than 750 railcars beginning Saturday, Nov. 17.

Dallas Police Department’s Northeast Division just wrapped up its Health and Safety Fair, and officer Bervin Smith already is planning another event. He’s teamed up with the Lake Highlands PID for a holiday festival this December. They need toys, gift cards and money for the event, which can be donated to the Lake Highlands PID offices at 8676 Skillman St.and the Northeast Division at 9915 E. Northwest Highway. They also can be mailed to Lake Highlands PID’s mailbox at 9090 Skillman St., suite 182A.

This Friday is the first week of Friday Night Heights, complete with acoustic tunes, craft cocktails and beer. Head to The Heights between 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.
